What are “Awards for Excellence”?

The Phil E. Keith Project of the Year Award recognizes a law enforcement planning project that has contributed to the operational and/or financial success of the agency and to the advancement of the law enforcement planning profession. The O.W. Wilson Long Standing Contribution and Achievement recognizes an individual who has made a significant and long standing contribution to the profession of law enforcement planning and has done so by way of unique, consistent actions and professional conduct. During the Annual IALEP General Board Meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, President Beth Morton advised that there was a slight change to how the winner of the Planner of the Year was determined this year. Due to the multitude of issues that every member faced at their respective agency, it was decided by the Executive Board that all members deserved to be recognized as the 2020 Planner of the Year. Many members have had to work from home due to the pandemic and yet still deal with severe budget shortages, protests, and the calls for reform from politicians and the public which have necessitated changes to your policies and practices. All IALEP Planners have all stepped up to the task and we commend you!
